Meet the Teachers of Discens Language Learning
Our mother tongues are Spanish and/or Brazilian Portuguese. We have met after we had completed our Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. Additionally, we have obtained numerous other certificates for teaching Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. We have lived in Brazil, Germany, and Spain. We speak fluently English, and German. We can communicate in French and Italian also.
For many years, we have been teaching Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese to individuals and groups of students in Germany and Spain. Via Zoom® we also train many other students from various countries in one-to-one lessons.
We are certified examiners of DELE and TELC candidates.
We are committed to continuous learning. Therefore, we continue participating in seminars and workshops to keep up with the latest didactic approaches and the newest digital technologies that are applied to language teaching.
We love communication and languages, and we want to share our passion with you. We believe that language and culture are deeply related and that getting to know both is a mind-opening experience.
Our purpose is to help you understand the structure of the language you are learning; we are convinced that becoming proficient in a language is much more than merely studying grammar rules and memorizing vocabulary lists. We will assist you and will put you in contact with the language you wish to learn so you can assimilate it in a natural, effective way.

Alicia Montero Schiemann
I was born in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil, in a trilingual family (Spanish-Portuguese-German) and completed my basic education at the Miguel de Cervantes Spanish School. I did the first four courses of the Humanities Degree in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, and the last one at the Humboldt University in Berlin. I finished my Master’s studies in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of Alcalá and in 2010 I settled in Berlin, where I worked as a teacher of Spanish and Portuguese at the Popular University and where I continued
my training in different institutions (Instituto Cervantes, Senatsverwaltung, publishing houses such as Cornelsen and Klett). Since 2018 I live in Mallorca, Spain, where I work exclusively with online teaching.
JosĂ© GarcĂa
I was born in Madrid, where I finished my basic education and where I
completed the first four courses of the Humanities Degree at the University of Alcalá. I had the opportunity to finish those studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin, where I have been living since 2010, and where I teach Spanish at the Popular University, both in traditional classrooms and online. I completed the Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Alcalá, and I continue receiving training on the Didactics of Spanish. I am fluent in English, German, and Brazilian Portuguese.
